1. Who We Are
Nima is an app and service that helps people reduce distracting app use through account features, subscriptions, VPN-based filtering, and related support services.
This policy applies to the Nima iOS app, Android waitlist, filtering systems, account systems, subscription systems, and support flows.
2. Data We Collect
Nima may collect the following data:
Account data: Email address, Supabase user ID, authentication data, session data, Apple Sign In data, and Google Sign-In data.
Purchase data: Subscription status, purchase history, entitlement state, RevenueCat app user ID, purchase data, restore data, and offering information.
Cancellation feedback: Selected cancellation reason and optional free-text details.
Android waitlist data: Email address and signup timestamp.
Support and diagnostics you choose to share: App and tunnel logs, VPN lifecycle state, connection errors, performance counters, crash-like or stop diagnostics, local traffic diagnostic files, and related troubleshooting details.
Local-only app data: Onboarding answers, age, phone-hours answer, selected habits/apps, display name, streaks, reminder settings, time windows, notification preferences, and CoreMotion data used for visual motion effects.
Local filtering signals: The iOS Network Extension processes signals such as domains, SNI, ports, connection metadata, byte counts, and block decisions to apply your blocking rules. These signals may appear in local on-device diagnostics, but they are not retained for server analytics or sent to OpenAI.
3. How We Use Data
Nima uses data to:
- Provide account login and session management.
- Operate VPN and content blocking features by processing network signals to decide whether a connection should be allowed or blocked.
- Show local blocking status and local diagnostics on your device.
- Process subscriptions, purchases, entitlements, and purchase restores.
- Send Android waitlist updates and service communications.
- Handle cancellation feedback, account deletion, billing issues, and customer support.
- Troubleshoot reliability, prevent abuse, and maintain security.
4. Third-Party Processors
Nima uses service providers to operate the app and service.
Supabase: Authentication, sessions, profile and blocker-state storage, waitlist storage, account deletion support, and cancellation feedback storage.
RevenueCat: Subscription status, purchase history, entitlements, offerings, purchases, and restores.
Google Sign-In: Google authentication data, user identifier, and IP address as described by Google.
Apple: Sign in with Apple and App Store purchase processing.
Hosting and infrastructure providers: Web app hosting, database infrastructure, and the limited technical services needed to operate Nima. Nima does not use these providers to retain ordinary browsing metadata for analytics.
5. Retention
Account and authentication data is kept while your account exists.
Cancellation feedback is kept while your account exists or as needed for support, business records, or legal obligations.
Android waitlist emails are kept until Android launch communications are complete or until you ask us to remove your email.
Local diagnostic files and logs are kept on your device until rotated, cleared, or removed during account deletion or local reset.
Diagnostics you choose to share with support are kept only as long as needed to resolve the request or meet legal obligations.
Purchase records are kept as required by Apple, RevenueCat, tax rules, fraud prevention, and subscription operations.
When account deletion is requested, Nima deletes linked cancellation feedback, profile and blocker state, the authentication account, and local app-group data where available.
6. VPN Data, Sharing, Sale, and Tracking
Nima does not sell personal data.
Nima does not sell, use, or disclose data derived from VPN use to third parties for any purpose.
Network signals processed to provide blocking are not retained for server analytics, advertising, profiling, or AI processing.
Nima does not use personal data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
Nima does not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.
Nima does not use the App Tracking Transparency prompt because Nima does not track users across other companies' apps or websites.
Service providers process account, purchase, support, waitlist, and cancellation data only to provide Nima functionality, security, support, billing, or legal compliance.
7. Children
Nima is not directed to children under 13.
Users under 13 should not create an account or use the service.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You can request access, correction, deletion, or Android waitlist removal by emailing help@nima.so.
Where available, you can delete your account in the app.
You can disable local notifications in iOS settings or in Nima settings where supported.
9. Changes
We may update this policy when Nima changes or when legal, security, or operational requirements change.
The latest policy will be posted at https://nima.so/privacy-policy with an updated date.
